Our ‘origin story’ is a bit different than the average family law firm.
Our founder, Cindy Wysocki, spent her first years out of law school as a public defender. Public defender is where newly minted lawyers go to get instant client and courtroom experience. It can be a ‘sink or swim’ immersion into the practice of law.
Cindy swam. She got trial experience from virtually her first day. She thrived in that environment. She saw it all. Enough, certainly, to realize nothing a case threw at her would faze her. In the least.
A few years, though, were enough.
She left the public defender’s office and . . . traveled the world. You know the Johnny Cash song, I’ve Been Everywhere Man? Cindy went everywhere [man]. All through the United States, Central and Eastern Europe, East Africa, Turkey, Egypt, Mexico, Thailand, Nepal, India, Alaska, England, France, Ireland...you get the idea.
Just as Cindy was about to 'get back to practicing' some people she knew 'reached out for help.' Each of them was in the middle of a family law matter that seemed incomprehensible. They 'were in pain.'
People 'were suffering such injustice' Cindy 'had to help because I knew I could.'
Family law was meaningful work that had direct impact on people’s lives. Practicing family law the right way meant making a difference. A chance to see 'a tangible impact on people’s lives while improving their lives for the better.'
Wysocki Law, PLLC was born.
We do family law. Only. We help our clients and their families and by doing it right, we have a positive effect on families, our community and, we believe, the world.
